85|366: thirteen (little) things

01. I always have hairbands on my wrist. I make sure I have enough so that even when I put my hair up, I still have some on my arm. I don’t know why I do that but I usually like the way it looks in photos.

02. Sometimes I feel that I’m not quite dorky enough.

03. Upon occasion, I find myself secretly wishing that I had what it takes to be a girly girl.

04. I babysat for a 3 month old this week and I’ve decided that I could live without a 3rd child for a bit longer.

05. I always think my hair looks/feels best at night. Of course, there’s never anyone else left awake to admire it with me.

06. On another 13 things I wrote that my two favorite things to receive as gifts are socks and pajama pants. BUT really. Books. Books are actually best.

07. I love every single thing my son creates. I can’t bear to part with any of the things he comes home from preschool with. I still have notebook pages he scribbled on when he was 3 or 4 months old and I stuck a pen in his hand for fun.

08. I recently realized (for the fiftieth time) that I spend too much time on the computer. I have been trying to cut back. (I miss you guys!!)

09. The most annoying thing about my new camera is that it does not auto-orient my photos when they are transferred to the computer. I take so many vertical photos and I got used to that feature with all my Kodaks!

10. My husband and I have a lot of inside jokes and sometimes (usually at inappropriate times) I inadvertently say things like, “I could really use a cookie right now” and people look at me funny. But I can’t explain because… that might ruin it.

11. There were 3 non-negotiables when I was (not) looking for the “perfect” man for me. He had to be a good cook (he is, I am not!), he couldn’t be a big sports freak (he isn’t!) and he had to be able to make me smile (no easy feat but he does!).

12. I am obsessed with stickers. I have drawers and drawers full of them. My kids love this about me. :)

13. I don’t mind clutter so much (as long as it is neatly piled) but I can’t stand for things to be dirty.
