77|366: to sum it up…

“When you have once seen the glow of happiness on the face of a beloved person, you know that a man can have no vocation but to awaken that light on the faces surrounding him; and you are torn by the thought of the unhappiness and night you cast, by the mere fact of living, in the hearts you encounter.”
-Albert Camus

76|366: new camera

This is my 3rd new camera in as many years. I have had 5 digital cameras (only one of them is completely retired) since December 2002.

I’m just never satisfied.

This photo sucks. I don’t care. I still feel pretty crappy (not sure if it’s mostly emotional bleeding into physical or the other way around).

75|366: put on a happy face

Sometimes you just HAVE to, whether you feel like it or not.

I’m pleased with myself about the rubik’s cube (didn’t take me long at all) but overall, NOT a good day. Sigh.

74|366: i wish…

…that I didn’t need this crap.

I finally went to the doctor today. After being sick for 3 weeks. I have bronchitis (exacerbated by asthma) and the beginning of pneumonia. Fun fun.

On the plus side, I ordered a new camera today, woo hoo! It is my birthday present from my husband. He was going to buy me a Nikon SLR but I actually changed my mind and went for the Canon S5 IS instead. I have my reasons but I’m too sick (the doctor said so, neener neener!) to bother right now.

73|366: best friends (a day out with the boy)

The boy had a “mama and me” day today. I don’t spend much one-on-one time with either of the kids. I think it’s been affecting Monkey in a negative way lately. Recently he told me, “I don’t like to share my parents!” So today we went out and did some ‘fun’ stuff (for him, haha). Of course we had to stop at the photobooth in the mall. He chose the “best friends” border and on the way out he said, “You’re my very best friend, Mama.” :) He was also telling me what expressions to make, he’s so much fun!

I’m not sure if this technically counts as a self-portrait. I’m thinking it does (I put the money in, I pushed the ‘ok’ button that tells it to take the photo) but maybe not.

72|366: dog baby

This was one of the other puppies (there are only 3). It was the squirmiest, the loudest and therefore my favorite. The shot is kind of blurry because she moved constantly but I like it anyway. These puppies were adorable. If they stayed that size, I would definitely want one! (You know, if my son and I weren’t allergic!)

71|366: mismatch

“To match unsuitably or inaccurately.”

Sometimes my socks don’t match and that’s okay. I like it that way. :) I totally wore one of these last Friday. Oof.

69|366: mrs. fix-it

One thing that is different about my husband and I (as a couple) is that I am the one who builds things. I am much more comfortable with a hammer or screwdriver in my hand than he is. So anytime we need anything hammered or screwed (keep it clean, ladies!) around here I’m the one for the job. Both my grandfathers and my dad are/were carpenters. It’s in my blood. I’m also better at anything to do with cars. It pisses me off to no end when we are at a car place and the guys only talk to my husband. Even when I’m the only one answering they don’t usually pay much attention to me.

Anyway, today I built (well, put together – I can build but I’m lazy, haha) a headboard/bookshelf for Monkey’s bed. He needed more space for his ever expanding collection of friends. (“They are not stuffed animals! They are my friends!”) The boy’s got at least 14 (although I think that count was about 3 friends ago) “friends” who have to sleep in his bed. They range in size from 1 inch to 2 feet. He also has them all lined up in a specific order and heaven forbid even one of them is in the wrong spot!

68|366: Today I am… comfy.

I am also…

…proud of myself.
…in love.
…warm.
…irritated with the weather.
…content.
…wishing my brother was home. (It’s his 25th birthday today – we’re the same age for two weeks!)
…craving cheese.
…not wearing socks. (I know! That never happens!)
…tired.

Today was one of those days where I just wanted to be comfortable. Since my husband had the day off (and he could be here to take the boy to school) I knew I wouldn’t have to go anywhere. Rather than “get dressed” I chose to put on clean pajamas after my shower. :) I did a lot of cleaning (go me!) and other things that needed to be done today and I feel so happy without all of the to-dos hanging over my head anymore.

For the FGR and Today I am… groups.
