This is how I’m spending my New Year’s Eve…

I know, I know… I’m so exciting!

45|366: big kiss

“I generally avoid temptation unless I can’t resist it.” -Mae West

I love that quote. I got this giant Hershey Kiss in my Christmas stocking and it’s near a miracle that I haven’t eaten it yet!! Somehow I can’t bring myself to unwrap it though, it’s so… shiny.

42|366: striped feet

“Small feet, big feet, here come pig feet.” – Dr. Seuss

Okay. No pig feet. (My husband was at work, hehe.) But small feet and big feet, indeed! :) I love that we both have striped socks. She’s going to have the cutest set of socks a baby has ever had, haha. I loooove socks!

41|366: thirteen (more) things

01. Each of my kids was born the day before a holiday. (Monkey the day before Halloween and Boo the day before Veteran’s day.)

02. They were also both born past their due dates. (Monkey 15 days late, Boo 5 days late.)

03. I moved in with Kent after I had only known him a week. Which was VERY out-of-character for me. We’ve been together for almost 7 years now. :) That’s why when people ask if I believe in love-at-first-sight I always say yes.

04. My favorite color to wear is black. It used to be the ONLY color I would wear.

05. I started dyeing my hair when I was 12. It has been purple, pink, green, blue, black, brown, natural red, bright red, brown, and I think I’m forgetting one or two.

06. I stopped drinking alcohol before I was even legally able to drink.

07. My favorite food is the cucumber, it is highly underrated.

08. I love being a SAHM even though it’s a job with lousy pay. At least the benefits are great.

09. If I had an ‘outside’ job, it would ideally be in either genetics or mathematics.

10. I am one of those people who is good or at least ‘okay’ at almost everything but great at nothing.

11. I would rather have one amazing talent and suck at everything else.

12. I prefer cold weather to warm weather and long-sleeved shirts to regular t-shirts.

13. I hate to drive. I mean I HATE it. I got my license at the age of 19 (I was almost 20) out of necessity and not because I wanted to.

40|366: tired and uninspired

It looks like I photoshopped around the edges of myself but I didn’t. The shadows were doing odd things. Hrm. Christmas is always such a looong day. My family and I had a good day, though. Lots of fun, presents and way too many sweets! This sweatshirt was one of my gifts. It is the first sweatshirt I’ve ever owned. Which is a little strange, I think. Who (in Maine, anyway) is 25 before they own a sweatshirt?

39|366: i heart candy canes

Jumping on the candy cane bandwagon.

NONE of the ideas that went into this photo were even remotely my own. The people I linked to get ALL the credit for the candy cane heart idea.
I just loooove candy canes so much I had to do one myself. :)

38|366: last minute wrapping

I had a few last-minute gifts come in the mail over the past couple days (no matter how much I prepare something always comes late!!) and I finally found (MADE) some time to wrap them tonight. I can’t believe that tomorrow is Christmas Eve!!!

37|366: so tired

I’m so tired, I haven’t slept a wink
I’m so tired, my mind is on the blink
-The Beatles (“So Tired”)

I fell asleep on the couch at… (are you ready for this?)… 7:30! My husband woke me up a little before 8 and suggested that I go to bed. It sounded like a good idea but I hadn’t taken a photo yet so I grabbed the camera, set the timer and laid back down on the couch just how I was before (minus the drool, haha). Then I went to bed. At 8 o’clock!

Boo hasn’t been sleeping at night. Two nights in a row (it’s always two, it seems – never just one) she was up ALL NIGHT. One of those nights she was crying for 6 hours straight, nothing helped. So yeah.. I was a little sleepy.
